Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Champion the product

  • Conduct regular customer interviews

  • Build and send out surveys to our customers

  • Define customer jobs and outcomes

  • Discover opportunities for product differentiation

  • Define and deliver product strategy and roadmap

  • Facilitate definition and create documentation for product team objectives

  • Articulate customer struggles that need to be solved in the form of written acceptance criteria

  • Use agile development processes to deliver consistent incremental value

  • Define, document and communicate objectives, features and bugs for product initiatives and releases

Software Developer


Active911 is looking for a capable, hardworking programmer who wants to work on a collaborative team and contribute to work that helps heroes save lives. We are located in Oregon's Willamette Valley, 50 minutes from the Pacific Ocean and close to skiing, kayaking, mountain biking and hiking.

Education and Experience Requirements:

A degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field is a plus but not required. Strong communication skills and the willingness to ask questions is essential. Engineering Manager


Status: Exempt

Reports to: Integrator

Salary Range: $113,000 - $155,156

Mission: Ensure Active911 is the most reliable product it can be within the constraints of cost and flexibility.

Scorecard:

  • 99.9% uptime, determined by outages of sent or received alerts
  • Developers average logging more than 75% of available time against tickets

Competencies:

  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Ability to work and manage in a team environment
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strongly principled – willing to get fired for your principles

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Maintain ongoing constructive engagement with team to ensure optimal outcomes
  • Plan and estimate effort against large projects, in collaboration with the product team
  • Refine and enhance SDLC process to complete work efficiently and effectively
  • Deep dive into technical issues with various members of the Engineering Team as the need arises, to find solutions
  • Assume responsibility for Engineering Team outcomes
  • Be single point of contact for Engineering Team with all other staff, to reduce distractions and maximize Engineering Team productivity
  • Maintain strong Engineering Team culture
  • Manage Engineering Team budget
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • College degree or comparable work experience
