Before using ActiveComms

Start Your Agency Migration

To prepare your agency for ActiveComms, you’ll first need to migrate from a device-centric account to a member-based account.

  • Log in to the Active911 Interface by going to Interface.Active911.com
  • Select Devices from the left-hand interface
  • Click Assign Devices in the top right corner on the Device Migration banner
  • Follow the prompts to complete migration
  • Your users will be prompted to either create a user account or to verify their password

Assign Licenses

Now you can start assinging your licenses to start trying ActiveComms while you wait!

  • Go to the Members tab in your Active911 account
  • Click the member you want to assign a license to
  • Click Licenses & Permissions
  • Scroll down to ActiveComms
  • Click Save

Before using ActiveComms

Create your channels

After signing up for ActiveComms, you’ll be able to set up and manage your communication channels right away.

  • Go to the ActiveComms dropdown in the Active911 console and select Channel Management
  • Click “New Channel” to begin creating a new communication channel
  • Enter a name for your channel in the Channel Name field
  • Select which members should have access and assign them roles like “Listen & Speak” or “Listen Only”
  • Once setup is complete, click “Create Channel” to activate it for your team

Learn the overlay and how it works

You and your team are just a few taps from transmitting! Below you can find brief info on how to use the ActiveComms Overlay

  • Tap the Power Button to toggle on/off the overlay
  • Select your newly created virtual channel (radio channels will be available once you have your ActiveBridge).
  • Users with the ability to speak will have a gold Microphone button
  • Admins will be able to force-mute users by tapping the Users button
  • Tapping the Quick playback button will play the last 30 seconds of the last transmission.
